Just some thoughts:
My friend Larry Vandeventer penned something that I copied down and over early morning coffee at my coffee place I read. Then I “pondered.”
“The past stands around in the yard occasionally peeking in the window vying for my attention. I try to ignore it. Some times it rings the doorbell trying to distract me from my duties. Other times it just strides up to the door opens it and boldly and stridently forces its way into the moment without even asking.”
“The results can be either positive or negative. At times I invite the past in and we take a glass of Arnold Palmer iced team out on the patio, sit in the swing and visit for awhile. Sometimes I would like for it to stay a bit longer but life intervenes. We say our goodbyes and I take the glasses back to the kitchen, wash and dry them, place them back in the cabinet and continue. The past is a wonderful place, mostly a place I like to visit but I don’t want to live there.”
Well said my friend. In my case I don’t live in the past but with the pasting of time I do find myself, visiting there often.
