Just some thoughts:
SHOW VS SUBSTANCES
These “Just Some Thoughts” would probably be better or left unsaid or Larry Adamson being told, “Just mind your own business.”

But. There is always a “but” isn’t there. There is this one church that I pass often and sadly I don’t get the vibes that I probably should. And I’m not knocking religion. I try to practice what I see, (Brooks &Dunn)– “written in red in that book from the man” who said it. I try to be a regular attendee on the first day of the week and try to sit up straight and pay attention when the man gets in the pulpit. And I try then the rest of the week practice somewhat what I was told during that time I was sitting up straight.
Sometime back there was a picture and an article in the paper regarding this church and its steeple. Without going into a lot of detail the article was about the church and its steeple. One of the church leaders was quoted as saying “We can now say without a doubt, we have the tallest steeple of any church in this county. No other church has a steeple as tall.”
Reading that I paused and thought surely there is more to this matter than what I am reading. Something like $40,000 plus thousand dollars was the money being spent on this steeple the article went on to say.

Often when I pass that church I think “I wonder how many homeless folks could be fed, how many pairs of shoes could be bought, how it could help families who are out of work, just how much $40,000 might do in other ways.” Other than being able to say “We now have the tallest steeple in the county.”
If I am off base here I apologize. But sometimes I wonder if a bit more substances is needed and less show. But that could be said of a lot of areas of life.
“They talked a good game but when push came to shove, they exhibited far more style than substance.”
By The Seat of My Pants–Buddy Killen
Again, that could be said of a lot of institutions and individuals.
And again you may feel free to file this one in the “Mind your own business Larry Adamson.”
