Just some thoughts:
NOT AS EASY
As life unfolds some things are not as easy as they might have been at other times.
When sorrows like sea billows roll
Whatever my lot, thou has taught me to say it is well
A hymn penned by Horaito Spafford in 1873. Shortly after he and his wife had just experienced the death at sea of their four daughters and not long after the death of their four year old son in the famous Chicago fire.
This morning I sat in a church pew at services in the city of Nashville. This song was sung. I’ve heard it, sung it many times before. But today it was a bit harder to do so. It’s not that I don’t subscribe to the message, just sometimes things we have done before aren’t done as easily at other times. I got to believe for some at this time this could be a really most difficult lyric.
This morning was such a time.
