Just some thoughts:
“Afterwards I called my parents. My mother answered the phone—and bless her heart, never asked if we won or lost. Never even mentioned it, which was typical of her. She wanted to know if I liked graduate school, and how my classes were, and whether I was getting enough to eat, letting me know in her own way that she loved me no matter what the score was.”
Sum It Up–Pat Summitt
This was Pat Summitt telling of calling her parents (at age twenty-two) after coaching her first game as the head coach of the women’s basketball team at the University of Tennessee.
Which by the way they lost 84-83.
Isn’t it great that our mothers love us and their love is not based on winning, losing and keeping score.
