Just some thoughts:
SOME FOLKS ARE WORTH QUOTING
Not too long ago in one of blog postings I referenced Grantland Rice. He are some quotes of Rice worthy of one’s attention.
” A wise man makes his own decisions, an ignorant
follows the public opinion.”
“Failure isn’t so bad if it doesn’t attack the heart.
Success is all right if it doesn’t go to the head.”
“Kindness in ourselves is the honey that blunts the
sting of unkindness in another.”
“I learned much more from defeat that I ever learned
“To be known as a person of sound judgement will be
much in your favor.
“Eighteen holes of match play will teach you more about your foe than nineteen years of dealing with him across the desk.”
“I await the hour when a journalist can be driven from
the press room for venal practices, as a minister can be
unfrocked. or a lawyer disbarred.”
Rice died sixty-five years ago this week, July 13, 1954.
But you know there are still many from past years worthy of quote. Even more putting into practice what they often said.
