Just some thoughts:
In 2001 he was voted into the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame.
He called his old coach. He and his old coach had been on the “outs” for about nine years. It had gone on for so long that neither man was certain exactly what they had fought about.
He called his old coach.
“Coach, I’ve been elected to the Hall of Fame. I really don’t care what you’re mad at me about or what I’m mad at your about but neither of us is getting any younger and this need to stop. If I hadn’t played for you and coached for you, I wouldn’t be going into the Hall of Fame. There’s no one other than you who should introduce me at the induction ceremony.”

The old coach, Bobby Knight, said to his former player, Mike Krzyzewski, “I’d be honored.”
Sadly in lives of too many hatchets often remain holstered much longer than what they should have. Hatchets should be buried.
