Just some thoughts:
I heard a great line the other day. Seems as I age I hear a lot of great lines. You think it might have to do with age?
A professional golfer hired this caddie to carry for him during this tournament.
The player discussed with the caddie what he expected from him and they agreed upon a salary for what he hoped would be the week’s work.
Shortly into the event it became clear that the caddie was failing to carry out his agreed responsibilities. The player told the caddie he was dismissing him (fired) as he was not living up to their agreement.
To the player’s credit he did something that I am sure a lot of other players would not have done. Upon dismissing the caddie after three days he paid him in full for what would have been a week’s work.
“The hire was paid in full and they parted as friends.”
Two thoughts came to me, the player did more than what he had to, paid him in full. I thought of a scripture that goes something like:
“As best as you can try and live at peace with all people.”
Appears to me the professional was trying to live out both. Good example for others…that includes me/ you.
“Pay in full and part friends.”
